Job Description

Job Title: Operations Manager

Reports To: Branch Manager


This is a position for an Operations Manager that is interested in working for a growing and fast paced company and an environment in which they are responsible for the overall efficient functioning of the branch. In addition, facilitating customer requests for information, quotations and orders by interacting with Branch and Regional Managers, outside sales, production staff, office staff and vendors.

Primary Duty and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


* Supervises and coordinates activities of production staff for optimal operational efficiency and economy.

* Through communication with the Branch Manager and sales team, provides direction to the entire staff as to the urgency of customer requests for quotations, delivery and installations.

* Provides administrative support to the NEBCO team when necessary.

* Forms relationships with employees, customers and suppliers to ensure conformity in all transactions.

Branch Maintenance

* Responsible for branch equipment & maintenance, production & office supplies, building maintenance and local services (phone, utility, etc.).

* Responsible for inventory and inventory levels for the production department.

* Oversees yearly inventory and assists in running cycle counts.


* Assist employees with problems concerning how to perform specific tasks to the safest extent possible.

* Administer best practices and training programs designed by Safety Committee to help us meet our goal of "zero" accidents and injuries.

* Provide a safe and healthy workplace for all employees through technical support and direction.

Sales Support

* Works closely with Branch Manager and outside sales staff to communicate customer information and order status.

* Provides inside/outside sales and belt fabrication support.

Human Resources

* Responsible for rewarding, disciplining and coaching employees when appropriate.

* Provides immediate communication to the Branch Manager if any exceptions occur.

Operations Management

* In addition to the above duties, the operations manager is responsible for the quality and quantity of work processed in the branch and for the organization and allocation of work assigned to the staff, including inside sales.

* The operations manager is also responsible for all tasks of the branch not specifically assigned to the production manager, salesmen, inside sales or branch manager.

Maintain Professionalism

* Helps set a positive, professional tone to the branch by their example and attention to detail.

* Projects a professional and courteous demeanor when communicating with supervisors, co-workers, staff, customers and suppliers.

Education and Experience: Three to five years related experience with at least 2 years supervisory experience. Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred. Experience in conveyor belt maintenance and/or sales helpful. Lean Six Sigma Certification or experience in leading Kaizen events across diverse workforces preferred.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret financial reports, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write memos, reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, employees and the executive board.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Computer Skills: Position requires ability to understand and utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook). Experience with an ERP Software strongly preferred.
