Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Works on research projects that mainly leverage secondary research methodologies across a variety of business and functional areas, including Innovation and Senior Leadership.
Uses research and insights to support business and enterprise-wide decision making.
Is well-versed in the secondary research methodologies, data sources and processes.
Is proficient in the execution of insights projects, including project scoping, project management, vendor identification and acquisition, analysis and delivery.
Leverages colleagues, business partners, outside experts and vendors to generate business-relevant insights.
Works on high-exposure initiatives; uncovers hard to find sources and verifies validity of other sources; performs market, industry, financial and economic analysis; formulates comprehensive answer for the client's business question.

Data Analysis & Synthesis:
Advanced ability to analyze data and summarize information from multiple sources, including large and complex data sets and performing market, industry, financial, and economic analysis
Intermediate ability to turn observations derived from data and analysis into actionable insights
Intermediate ability to manage research projects from the scoping phase through client delivery.
Provide intermediate subject matter expertise in various research tools, sources and methodologies.
Business Software Skills:
Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
Intermediate ability to engage with business partners to understand the underlying insight needs and leverage research expertise coupled with out of the box thinking to identify a solution and create actionable insights
Ability to work through “gray space“ concepts and drive clarity and vision on new / nascent topics, embracing “blue sky“ ideas and challenging the status quo.
Travelers Enterprise Market Research team is looking for a new member for our Emerging Insights Portfolio. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with a wide range of secondary research methodologies, be comfortable creating custom research approaches and new frameworks to answer difficult questions, and be able to drive progress on long-term initiatives while managing short-term business needs. You will be working in a dynamic environment to help understand emerging consumer, business and technology trends and their impact to the future of the insurance industry and marketplace.
You will be responsible for conducting research and serving as a research subject matter expert (SME). You will help inspire a vision of the future and create tools and resources which enable key business partners to act upon the knowledge and insight generated by research efforts to make informed business decisions, deliver against critical business objectives and drive innovation.
Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, economics, mathematics, marketing, or comparable analytical degree preferred. 5+ years of related work experience preferred.
Operates standard office equipment (Frequently) Sitting (can stand at will) (Frequently) Use of Keyboards, Sporadic 10-Key (Frequently)
Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
