About the Position:

MEPS is a relatively small organization with a mission critical to our national defense. Our job is to process individuals for enlistment or induction for all five services into the armed forces. The job is both challenging and rewarding. For most new military service members, processing through the MEPS is the first real exposure to a military operation. For that reason, we seek customer-oriented employees with a desire to serve their country in a meaningful way.

Responsibilities

* Maintain order and a smooth operating environment for a group of up to 250 applicants.

* Instructs applicants on testing procedures and starts, observes, times, and ends the test or test segment as directed.

* Utilizes computer systems and software to administer computer-based enlistment and student aptitude tests.

* Responsible for the security and accountability of student test booklets, at home, during transport, and at the testing location.

Travel Required

50% or less - Up to 50% business travel is required.

* Position does NOT provide guaranteed work hours each week.

* Work will be assigned on an intermittent "as-needed" basis.

* Position will NOT lead to a full-time position.

* Position requires you to possess a valid driver's license.

* Position requires you to lift boxes weighing up to 30 pounds.

* Position requires you to use a privately-owned vehicle for travel.

* A background investigation is required.

* Must be able to work in schools.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. General Experience: One year of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled, such as: 1) Presenting oral instructions to individuals and/or groups; 2) Conducting thorough checks to ensure forms are properly completed; 3) Utilizing automated systems to provide reports/information to others.

OR

Education: Two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of by 60. Add the two percentages.
