Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor coordinates the actives of employees who execute manufacturing and production schedules and ensures that actual production meets scheduled requirements. This position supervises and coordinates activities of employees within a multi-shift facility, engaged in operating a variety of presses, painting lines, assembly and packing lines used in the production of non-powered goods.

Major Responsibilities

* Direct daily employee actives, ensures proper levels of staffing, checks actual against scheduled production and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions

* Controls load factors and flow of work to ensure maximum use of available capacity and effective use of labor, tools and equipment

* Drive key operational measurements; safety, inventory, cost, productivity, efficiency, fulfillment, on-time delivery & quality

* Exercise independent judgment with staffing and operational decisions

* Provides leadership and motivation to center employees to achieve production goals and resolve issues, conducts annual performance evaluations and provides daily feedback

* Create and maintain safe work environment

* Coordinate and store inventory, conduct regular quality checks

* Provide feedback during performance evaluations and one on one conversations

* Maintain Etime to ensure employees are paid properly

* Ensure associates follow Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to company policies

RequirementsRequired Competencies, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education Requirements

* Bachelor's degree preferred

Relevant Work Experience/Requirements

* 3-5 years' experience in manufacturing environment and supervision

* PC skills including the Microsoft Office Suite; primarily Excel and Word

* Ability to become efficient in the use of company software, i.e.: Catalyst, Chess & Oracle

* Ability to tackle a problem by using a logical, systematic, sequential approach

* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

* Ability to delegate responsibility and to work with others while coaching them to develop their capabilities

* Ability to adapt to change in the workplace

* Ability to properly maintain confidential or sensitive information

* Ability to take responsibility for your own or the performance of those reporting to you by setting clear goals and expectations, tracking progress against the goals, ensuring feedback, and addressing performance problems and issues promptly

* Ability to convey confidence in associates' ability to be successful, especially at challenging new tasks; delegating significant responsibility and authority; allowing associates freedom to decide how they will accomplish their goals and tasks


* Lean Manufacturing or Lean Six Sigma preferred

Travel Requirements

* Primarily limited to local travel

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
