A member of the Greater Hudson Valley Health System (GHVHS), Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is dedicated to providing quality health care to residents of Sullivan County and neighboring communities at its main hospital campus in Harris and at Grover M. Hermann Hospital in Callicoon.
CRMC's main Harris campus is a 218-bed facility with 64 skilled nursing care beds. CRMC's Grover M. Hermann Hospital (Callicoon campus) is a 15-bed facility with 10 beds that can be used for either acute care or skilled nursing care. As a community hospital in tune with public health needs, CRMC also provides access to education and training for our health care workers and members of the community. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for implementing the Nursing Process based on established Standards of Practice and ensuring all patient care policies and procedures are adhered to in accordance with CRMC Hospital policies, the Nurse Practice Act, and the New York State Licensure requirements. The registered nurse will be able to exhibit critical thinking, effectively organize and triage/prioritize accordingly, and implement evidence based nursing.
Education: Currently licensed and registered in NY State to practice as a registered professional nurse.
Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.
Maintains all required certifications for the areas assigned.
Successful completion of BLS Provider Course
ED: 1 year medical surgical experience required or comparable experience in Ambulatory/Surgical, Critical Care, Intensive Care, Labor & Delivery or nursing home will be considered.
CCU: 1 year medical-surgical experience preferred
Special Qualifications: Satisfactory completion of cardiac arrhythmia course during orientation period.
ACLS to be obtained within 6 months of hire
PALS to be obtained within 6 months of ED
TNCC preferred for ED staff within 1 year of hire
CCRN or CEN preferred
Crisis Training- must attend hospital crisis training program within 3 months of hire or transfer and annually thereafter
Physical Demands: Position will primarily be medium to light work requiring lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling and reaching are required. Position requires 20% sitting and 80% standing or walking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken and written word is required.
Working Environment: Position may have occasional exposure to blood, body substances, infectious materials, chemical hazards, vibration, radiation, slippery surfaces, or noise that may result from performance of duties.
Employees Supervised: Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, Unit Coordinator
Degree of Supervision Required: Minimal. Must be able to work independently.
