The incumbent will interface with appropriate functional departments to confirm that the design and processes conform to design specifications, participate in production release including review of product safety and reliability and process capability demonstration.

Tasks:

Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Understand the design concepts to product performance and participate in the evaluation and continuous improvement of design quality.

* Understand the process variations which affect the product quality characteristics and participate in the evaluation and continuous improvement of process yield.

* Understand, recommend and review verification and validation methods for design release and process capability demonstration through the use of Quality tools.

* Identify and recommend equipment and method necessary for measuring product or process quality while maintaining and improving safety and housekeeping practices.

* Clarify specifications and assist in training operators and inspectors to confirm understanding and capability of process and equipment through the use of Quality tools.

* Participate in review of non-conforming product through the Material Review Board process and return of non-conforming product to identify possible means of prevention or correction.

* Participate in audits of Quality System, design and process as necessary to meet ISO requirements.

* Participate in vendor qualification, approval and audits.

* Participate in safety and warranty review of product release.

* Participate and recommend improvement in the calibration system.

* Participate in the performance review process and assume supervisory responsibilities as required.

* Manage the customer complaint (PARR) system and reporting, as required.

* Travel as required.

* Participate in other projects and/or duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Basic qualification:

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance

Preferred qualification:

* Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical and 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance.

* 3 years of experience in Quality Engineering role in a manufacturing environment.

* Proficiency in auditing, metrology, SPC, Calibration, Lean Quality Tools & Techniques (i.e. Pareto, fishbone, 5S & 8D).

* Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
