The Education Department, Western State Colorado University, seeks a full time Department Support Coordinator.

Duties:The Department Support Coordinator (DSC) provides broad administrative and analytical support to graduate programs in the Education Department and works closely with the Department Chair on projects related to program management. The DSC manages graduate admissions functions, including counseling applicants on admissions requirements, processing and evaluating applications, and guiding admitted students on course requirements and program logistics. The DSC contributes to a positive working environment and smooth program operations by providing effective customer service while interacting with faculty, students, alumni, and staff. The DSC performs analytical and technical work in the formulation of budgets, reports, and faculty contracts. The DSC compiles and analyzes data on admissions and enrollment to comply with external reporting requirements and to inform the formulation of internal policies.

Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. 2 years of general clerical experience; Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite software, including Word, Excel, Outlook; part-time experience will be prorated. College, university, or non-correspondence business school coursework may be substituted on year for year basis for experience. Exemplary oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree. Prior experience in higher education. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Experience using CRM software.

Compensation: Position schedule is 40 hours per week; the starting rate is $17.21 per hour with full benefits. This position is FLSA non-exempt, subject to overtime, and not part of the state classified personnel system.
