Western State Colorado University is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer. This is a full-time, twelve-month position.

Duties:Responsibilities include assisting the head athletic trainer in all aspects of the athletic training room. Assist in administration of sports medicine for 13 NCAA intercollegiate sports, approximately 400 student-athletes, and a sports medicine team made up of but not limited to certified athletic trainers, physician assistants, general medicine/family practice physicians, orthpaedic physicians, physical therapist and various other health care providers. As a support mechanism of the athletic training room, this individual will help reduce the student-athlete ratio to maintain a high level of care. Must communicate and professionally interact with student-athletes, athletic training staff, work-study students, coaches, administrators, physicians, and other allied health care providers and with ATC's of host/visiting institutions. Share responsibility of on-call schedule and athletic training room coverage. Be able to cover practices, games and travel with assigned teams. Provide preventative, treatment and rehabilitative services. Maintain medical records for all NCAA varsity sports. Assist with referrals, testing procedures, examinations including but not limited to equipment checking, FMS, concussion/BESS and mental health screening. Acknowledge and follow policies, procedures and regulations set forth by the NCAA D2, RMAC and University as they apply to athletic training, and the student-athlete well-being. Assist with general athletic fund raising and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:Bachelor's degree required. Master's Degree preferred. Minimum of three years Athletic Training experience preferred. Maintain national, regional, state, and institutional certifications and licensures (Colorado State Registration) (DORA), maintain BOC Continuing Education Units, CPR/AED and First Responder certified. Must have a valid driver's license.
