Summary:

This person will analyze and recommend metal items and structures for process, chemical and/or structural metallurgy.

Responsibilities

  • Damage Mechanisms
  • CUI
  • FAC
  • Standard steel
  • Understand weld procedures
  • Confidence and creative initiative to solve difficult problems and develop discipline specific arrangements
  • Manage his or her own time to stay within the project allotted budget
  • Interfacing with clients in business development roles during scope and proposal development phases of a new project or as required
  • Capable of developing metallurgy analysis manhour estimates and work completion schedules
  • Develop and review project specifications
  • Mentor less senior engineers
  • Possess professional registration preferred
  • Verify field conditions, constructability of designs, and assist in resolving problems during field construction
  • May be required to participate in short term field assignments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Metallurgy, Corrosion Engineering or similar preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in the oil/gas refining and/or chemical manufacturing industry
  • API 571 certification preferred
  • Knowledge of weld procedures
  • CUI experience preferred
  • API 510, API 570 or API 653 certification preferred
  • FAC experience preferred
  • Structural steel experience preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office software skills
  • Possess report writing skills to create evaluation reports of existing facilities
  • Intermediate understanding of other discipline work flow and how all departments work together to complete projects
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must be a US Citizen or green card holder
