SUMMARY

An experienced Manufacturing/Lean professional that drives and facilitates supplier development projects to ensure a supply chain capable of providing increased flexibility and responsiveness, improved utilization of assets, improved quality and reduction of overall cost. Lead/support improvement processes with strategic suppliers for mutual and sustainable benefits by improving Oshkosh Corporation and supplier processes. Works closely with strategic and operations purchasing to develop order fulfillment and flexibility plans. Work with Strategic Purchasing to help implement commodity strategies ensuring a capable supply base.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Coach, mentor and train suppliers in Continuous Improvement Management System (CIMS) principals to reduce waste throughout the supply chain.

* Lead/participate in Launch Readiness programs working with key suppliers to ensure capability and capacity for new program launch and/or fluctuations in forecast.

* Onsite supplier support to ensure continuity or recovery of supply (i.e. when supplier delivery and/or capacity constraints present a threat to Oshkosh Corporation facilities).

* Perform value stream and capacity analysis at supplier locations and recommend changes in processes/production to reduce lead time and waste.

* Monitor supplier delivery performance.

* Perform supplier assessments to identify and mitigate risks with new and existing suppliers.

* Identify and action potential cost reduction through Value Improvement/Value Engineering.

* Participate as members of Commodity Councils to help identify and ensure supplier compliance with the Oshkosh GPSC 4 Priorities.

* Lead/participate in team continual improvement projects as appropriate.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Bachelor's degree and related work experience

* 3-plus years of experience

* Ability and willingness to travel Domestically 50-75% of the time

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Excellent communication and presentation skills

* Knowledge and understanding of Lean Manufacturing Tools and Concepts

* Understanding of fundamental business principles and practices

* Knowledge of Manufacturing Critical-path Time/ Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM)

* Knowledge of manufacturing and/or distribution processes, quality, tooling, tool design, preventative maintenance and corrective action, engineering (design/manufacturing), quality, and purchasing methods

* Understanding of fundamental business principles and practices

* Green or Black Belt certification
