The Merchandising Assistant’s main responsibilities focus around asset management, supporting the Merchandise Manager, and maintaining data integrity by working with suppliers within assigned categories. This role is based out of our Greenville, WI location.
Obtains and supports all item data from suppliers and Merchandise Manager for new item setups, updating existing items, or discontinuing items.
Collects images from supplier, assigns metadata and uploads to Asset Management and Workflow Tools.
Build catalog copy blocks, whiteboard and proof pages.
Updates and maintains item pages on SSI websites including web titles, web copy, attributes, and images.
Reconciles item data to continually maintain accuracy.
Resolves inquiries/issues with product by compiling data from multiple sources.
Works with Merchandise Managers in areas such as supplier maintenance and communication, new product submissions, supplier meetings, etc.
Ability to recognize issues and errors, take direction, yet take initiative to foresee and act upon tasks needing attention.
Exercises care within work environment to prevent injuries. Support and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in merchandising, marketing, or related area preferred.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, as well as Oracle and Outlook. Ability to learn and work in multiple systems simultaneously.
Excellent data entry and accuracy skills.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve discrepancies.
Data base management
Attention to Detail. Proofing skills and applications
Ability to multi-task and work independently. Able to handle large volumes of data in an organized manner.
Develops effective working relationships with internal customers and suppliers
Works cross-functionally and recognizes the impact of own actions on others; gains support and commitment of others to achieve common goals
Conveys information effectively and concisely through both verbal and written communication with strong follow-up
