The Student Health Service is mandated by the University of the State of North Carolina to deliver "state of the arts" medical care economically to all fee-paying students through a pre-determined budget. These services are utilized currently at a rate of approximately 40,000 patient visits annually and are administered by a staff of fifth-three persons through seven different sections within the Department.
