Documentation Management Specialist

ASRC Federal AFSS is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems. We are seeking a Documentation Management Specialist to support a NASA contract in Greenbelt, MD.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Documentation and Data Management (DM) support to the Atmosphere Observing System (AOS) project implementing DM processes and procedures that support the procurement, development, integration, test, and delivery of the project.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of required compliance documentation including Goddard Procedural Requirements (GPR 1440.8) Records Management, (400-PG-1440.7.2) Retention of Project Technical Records by the Code 400 Directorate Library and the NASA Policy Directive and the (NRRS 1441.1) NASA Record Retention Schedules.
  • Maintain the data management system for both general and proprietary documentation (receiving, storing, tracking, retrieving, and distributing documentation/data).
  • Identify, collect, manage, and archive internal and external electronic and project data (project baseline and non-baseline documents, reference documents, updates, contractor deliverables, drawings, end item data packages, management data, photos/videos).
  • Perform data management function including documentation coordination, status tracking system, and required reporting.
  • Acquire and distribute documentation/data to project personnel and other reviewers using an on-line database.
  • Provide data management including receipt, coordinating, tracking, of CDRL deliverables, upload to database system, and provide approval and/or processing status accounting to project management and technical leads of contract data deliverables to ensure compliance with the Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL).
  • Maintain an electronic library of contractor deliverables, presentation packages, videotapes, photographs, graphics, software, reference material, and project-related documentation
  • Prepare documentation/data for archival to the Program Library and National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) in accordance with Center requirements.
  • Provide documentation support to project personnel (i.e., editing/formatting Word documents, PowerPoint presentations and importing into project templates).
  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Must have data management experience in a technical / engineering environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of required compliance documentation including Goddard Procedures and Requirements (GPR) -1410.2 and 400-Procedures and Guidelines (PG)-1410.2.1A is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Individual must have strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to manage time and meet the many reporting deadlines.
  • Experience and proficiency with TDMS or MIS preferred, including experience with SCoRe module.
  • Experience and proficiency in DOORS is a plus
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate successfully with a project team including project management and technical leads.
  • Experience with GSFC flight projects is desired.
  • Individual must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA GSFC. Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job. Some travel may be required.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-4 years of experience.
