Project Engineer

The Project Engineer is responsible for the execution of Tosca's engineering project plans throughout Tosca's nationwide service center network.

Project activities may include new site selection, infrastructure, and wash line layout design, overseeing infrastructure preparation and installation of RPC wash lines, equipment development and evaluation of new automation concepts, and assisting customers with automation opportunities. This role will also have accountability for managing 3rd party contracting. The successful candidate will be able to build strong connectivity and communications with the site operations teams.

Additionally, this position plays a crucial role in driving change management and continuous improvement efforts at various Tosca sites.

This position is an individual contributor, reporting to the Engineering Manager and based in Green Bay, WI.

Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions):

* Manage engineering projects to meet time and cost targets concerning contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding, and contract administration

* Utilize project engineering skills and acquired wash line knowledge to ensure the most efficient wash line layout designs, which includes planning activities involving service center management and support staff

* Manage equipment vendors, develop equipment layouts, prepare equipment quotes, complete purchase orders and develop/maintain capital equipment timelines

* Work as the primary contact in the contractor bidding and selection process for site improvements and equipment installations

* Prepare and facilitate materials required for municipality permit applications

* Provide project updates about planned operations disruption and communicate with those impacted

* Work directly on site with contractors, engineering maintenance, and site maintenance to complete project work on time and within budget

* Provide initial plant training as required for new projects and provide ongoing troubleshooting

* Partner with operations leadership to create programs that drive annual cost efficiencies and provide functional proficiency in electrical and mechanical systems

* Coordinate cross-functional participation and alignment regarding engineering processes and functions with a critical focus on integration with production, quality, safety, corporate sustainability efforts and logistics goals

* Evaluate future site locations in partnership with the Engineering Manager, Logistics, and Marketing

* Identify, evaluate, and develop future automation and automation improvements internally to Tosca and for our customers

Requirements, Experience, & Education (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

* Associates or Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or related technical field

* 5-7 years of previous project leadership and project engineering experience

* Technical ability with electrical systems, mechanical systems (including pumps & steam systems), and general construction methods

* Understanding of manufacturing workflow, which includes planning activities

* Ability to work efficiently within a cross-functional and team-based environment

* Strong communication skills and the ability to be a team player are a must

* Problem-solving, solution-based critical thinking and decision making skills are essential

* Ability to apply your knowledge of Lean principals

* Experience within the industry, which includes vendor relations and R&D, is a plus

* Ability to provide leadership within the Tosca culture, including initiative, drive, and motivation

* Ability to travel within the US, 40% on average, as well as occasional international travel
