Physician - Pediatric Neurosurgeon

With a six bed epilepsy monitoring unit, top of the line video/audio EEG capabilities, mobile units and 24 hour ambulatory capabilities, and intraoperative MRI the goal of the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Pediatric Neurosciences Program is to become a nationally recognized center of excellence within the next three to five years. The Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery seeks a full-time BC/BE Pediatric Neurosurgeon. Currently the division includes three Neurosurgeons, five Advanced Practice Providers, social work, and support staff including Child Life and genetics counselors. The Neurosurgeon joining this practice will enjoy being part of a rapidly expanding children's hospital and neurosciences program. The new surgeon will be a quality and safety driven individual and will be key in the expansion of our Pediatric Neurosurgery program in the area of epilepsy surgery. This position demands efficiency in work flow as well as the ability to blend clinical time with program development. As the prime Pediatric clinical academic partner of Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, Helen DeVos Children's Hospital offers academic appointments for qualified candidates and teaching opportunities are available. Basic Qualifications:

Education - Medical Degree (MD or DO)

Licenses - Current M.D. or D.O. license for the state of Michigan. \\\

Current State of Michigan and Federal Narcotics Licenses.\\\

Basic Life Support (BLS)\Certification in BCLS, ACLS required if stress tests performed or as required by specialty.\Specific to SHMG \90 Days\

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)\\Specific to SHMG: ACLS required if stress tests performed or as required by specialty.\120 Days\

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)\\Specific to SHMG: (PALS is required by if specialty or stress test performed\120 Days\
