Grow the Business by providing strategic direction and accountability for brand integrity, driving franchisee sales, development, operations and contractual compliance while building a strong working relationship with assigned Franchisees as their key and daily contact through Orion Food Systems (OFS) proprietary system.

Essential Functions






This position directly impacts corporate profitability and requires the following:

Develops/Cultivates a successful business relationship with the licensee/franchisee as their primary contact with them and their store management team throughout assigned area which will result in increased sales for OFS.

Manage day to day activities consistent with achieving maximum results to plan by conducting regular store visits.

Responsible for growth on the base business using tools including, but not limited to, minimum average store visits per day and effectiveness of visits; PAWS warmer management, Menu mix, Analytical tool application.

Communicates to ensure the licensee/franchisees understand the culture, mission, vision and core values as they relate to the brand equity and the business. Communicates with franchisees not limited too; price increases, new product launches, marketing calendar, media support, rebate programs, etc.

Order Confirmation - Review food orders vs. last year, if not on plan have appropriate actions to be taken.

Prevent account attrition (store closings)

Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from leads, business directories, site selection, in-person visits, company activity, trade shows, cold calls, corporate office, franchise business consultants and other sources as necessary.

Creates and executes a strategy from leads to new and existing store development, construction, asset management and renovations, balancing profitability with performance metrics such as weeks operational and ROI.

Travels throughout assigned territory; call on existing customers to solicit additional new store business

Follows new store opening process to efficiently open new franchise C store locations. Ensures partners adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.

Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or sales presentations, and emphasizes salable features.

Draws new store layouts, quotes equipment prices, credit terms complete sales contracts and provides to Management for approval prior to presentation/negotiation with franchisee/customer.

Confirms date of store opening with franchisee/licensee, based on knowledge of the franchisee/licensee and Orion Food Systems Schedule. Coordinate with new business coordinators.

Be knowledgeable of the franchise contract and manage to its opportunities by understanding, interpreting, upholding and enforcing compliance by all Licensees/Franchisees to Orion Food Systems standards, specifications and contractual requirements.

Recommend changes and solutions where needed to ensure the effective fulfillment of company growth objectives to move swiftly in relation to industry changes and opportunities

Timely completion and delivery of report templates to Management.

Work with franchisee to develop targeted programs using existing training and other materials as a follow up to store visits.

Ability to develop marketing programs specific to franchises local needs, highlighting the expense and the ROI on all investments utilizing LSM store funds.

Implement roll out of all Orion Food Systems programs and new product introductions.

Responsible for educating on products, processes, and food quality in the context of marketing and our contract understanding from Orion Food Systems for operators.

Account ownership through training and operational excellence.

Train and develop new and existing licensees/franchisees and store personnel on proper operating procedures and Orion Food Systems standards.

Attends meetings of instruction on Orion Food Systems new products, procedures and periodic goals.

Assure that all company and governmental regulations are being observed.

Maintains and safely operate company vehicle.

Able to personally pay for meals, hotels and incidental work-related travel costs, which will be reimbursed to the employee by Orion Food Systems per policies and budgets. Airfare and rental cars will be directly billed to Orion Food Systems.

Experience and Education Competencies


Education: Bachelor's degree from four year college or university; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

3-5 years field related sales experience in food industry desired.

Multi-unit operations and P & L responsibility experience preferred.

Franchise operations background preferred (preferably QSR).

Effective written and oral communication skills for effective education of operators.

Exceptional interpersonal sales skills.

The ability to grasp the "tool kit" of technology software that drives management of the territory, including, but not limited to Retail and Wholesale analysis.

Strong problem solving skills, business math and accounting skills including ability to read financial statements.

Ability to effectively and professionally provide guidance and coaching to franchisees.

Self-motivated; High standard of work ethics.

Exceptional Personal Computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.

60% or greater overnight travel each month - usually by car.

Current, valid driver's license and exemplary driving record. Driver's license must meet company's driver expectation point standards. All company drivers have their MVR checked every 6 months for compliance.

Communication: Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal). Exceptional interpersonal skills. Ability to read, analyze, interpret and cascade sales, operating, maintenance and procedure instructions, processes and manuals. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Technology Experience: Proficient in MS Office products (Excel, Word, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint).
