Position Description:

Supervises Associates in a warehouse environment. Plans and assigns work, enforces policies and procedures and recommends improvements in warehouse processes, material handling equipment, operating procedures and working conditions

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Ensures effective Associate Relations. Provides associate coaching and development. Hires and makes employment status recommendations and decisions in conjunction with other members of management

* Leads a Continuous Improvement initiative focused on improvement of the Warehouse processes at the assigned plant

* Creates metrics to measure Warehouse productivity improvement opportunities and uses these metrics to address and eliminate waste

* Provides training and mentoring to Associates in regards to Material Management methods and practices

* Manages departmental performance measures including visual controls, process and product audits and provides regular progress reports to manager

* Performs incident investigations, problem solving reports, maintains proper inventory levels, manages department priorities, tracks absenteeism and ensures Kronos is accurate and completed in a timely manner

* Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

Associate's Degree required, Bachelors preferred in: Industrial Engineering or related field.

Knowledge, Training, Skills and/or Experience: List specific examples.

* Knowledge and/or training courses specific for this position

* Knowledge of shipping/receiving practices, policies and techniques.

* Knowledge of ERP operating systems is required.

* Skills specific for this position

* Problem analysis and resolution

* Supervision, including Associate retention, performance management, and corrective action

* An ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost, and Associate relations

* Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others

* Must be flexible to work an alternate shift

* Experience specific for this position (explanation – list at least 3):

* 1 to 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment

* Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously

* Demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve results through others

* Minimum three (3) years of shipping/receiving/stores experience

* Experience with the following skills: Kanban, Poke Yoke, cellular manufacturing and 5S

* Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Material Flow is a plus

* Six Sigma training is a plus
