The District Attorney's Office is seeking an outstanding Criminal Investigator to join the Investigations Division. Under general supervision, this person performs comprehensive investigative work to support prosecution activities of the District Attorney's Office. This Criminal Investigator will work in concert with prosecutors, local law enforcement agencies, and other organizations on the prevention, investigation, and prosecution of criminal offenses.

Essential Duties:

Work involves working closely with prosecutors in preparing criminal actions for courtroom presentation and testifying in court. Work also involves investigating alleged or suspected criminal violations to determine if there is sufficient evidence to file charges and support prosecution. Criminal Investigator is responsible for contacting and preparing witnesses for trials, assisting various law enforcement agencies by providing investigative assistance, technical support, training new investigators and making arrests as necessary. Employee is subject to the usual hazards of investigative law enforcement work.


Associates degree in law enforcement or related field and a minimum of five years

responsible law enforcement agency experience, to include three years as a Detective/ Investigator in a law enforcement agency with emphasis in crimes against children and/or juvenile investigations. Must be Colorado Post Certified.

Offer of employment contingent on background investigation, MVR check, education verification, physical and psychological evaluation.

Additional Information:

Must have a valid driver's license, if you are from out of state, you must have a valid Colorado driver's license within 30 days of hire date, and you must not have any major violations, nor more than one DUI, DWI, DWAI conviction in the past three years , must have Colorado Peace Officers Standards and Training Certification.
