Job Duties and Responsibilities

Dish Technologies Digital Broadcast Centers provide advanced online video delivery and satellite video delivery for broadcasters and pay-TV operators across North America. Through our network of uplink centers, these world-class facilities are also home to Dish's 24/7 traffic, technical operations, and satellite access centers. This team is comprised of experienced professionals dedicated to providing customers with an unparalleled level of service delivering content and programming to over 16 million subscribers every day.

We are seeking a Staff Technician for our Broadcast Engineering department at our Gilbert, AZ, facility. The Broadcast Engineering team is responsible for the maintenance of all the TC/IP-based video and audio systems in the entire broadcast center.

Primary responsibilities include:

* Minimizes equipment and customer outages through precise application work on equipment. Interacts with vendors and internal engineering departments.

* Responsible for TCP/IP-based video and audio systems, which include PPV file and automation servers, routers, a/v alarms, analog/digital converters and commercial insertion equipment.

* Monitors and adjusts audio and video parameters to insure the best network quality.

* Interpret logs and data from various systems, then developing appropriate corrective action plans or solutions.

* Installs, maintains and repairs to component level various types of baseband equipment: which includes analog and digital, composite, component, NTSC, PAL, AES, SDI, and HD signals.

* Tunes and trouble-shoots various types of satellite and fiber MPEG decoders. Calibrates equipment according to manufacturer specifications including routine VTR maintenance.

* Maintains the integrity of the system wiring and documentation.

Skills - Experience and Requirements

The successful Staff Technician in the Braodcast ENgineering department will have:

* Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and at least four years of IT or Television broadcast engineering experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Experience with servers, switches and routers and specialized broadcast equipment to include repair to the board level.

* Must be able to work rotating 24X7 shift work including overnight shifts as dictated by the needs of the business.

* Ability to lift 75 lbs.

* Ability to distinguish gradations in color.

* Must be able to stand for extended periods and reach to heights of up to 7 feet.

* Must be able to communicate via 2-way radio.
