I: Job Summary

This position is responsible for assisting with the development of all marketing communications materials in support of the Emergent product line. This includes products against chemical threats, biological threats, devices, and related above brand efforts. Candidate implements global marketing communications plan in collaboration with Marketing Communications lead, other internal business partners, and external sales and distribution network. Candidate should be a strong project manager, capable of working across different functions, organized and attuned to detail. Strong interpersonal skills are must have.

II: Responsibilites

* Helps to create, implement, and oversee communications programs that effectively describe and promote the organization and its products including graphics, brochures, company or product fact sheets, logos, product names, tabletop exercises, exhibit materials, and videos.

* Works with partners in marketing, sales, government affairs and other internal and external customers to identify needed resource materials.

* Researches and identifies communication agencies that can support corporate needs.

* Will work with a cross functional team of subject matter experts to secure input into the development of draft materials.

* Assists in the process of moving materials through the established review and approval process.

* Tracks budget expenses against forecast.

* Works with marketing team to manage approval process for materials by Promotional Review Board (PRB)

* Leads the development of select resources at the direction of the Marketing Communications Lead

* Provides assistance to sales team on requests as needed.

* Assists VP of Marketing in management of other activities as needed (onboarding of new product managers, sales training)

* The position will report to the Marketing Communications Lead and will have dotted line reporting relationship to the VP Marketing for select projects.

III: Education, Experience & Skills

* Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, Marketing, or related

* 5-8 years of related experience

* Understanding of key customers including BARDA, CDC, DoD and other PHEMCE stakeholders

* Experience in the Biodefense space is strongly preferred

* Experience working in a heavily matrixed organization

* Experience in developing training materials and delivering and presenting materials for development and education of staff

* Understanding of budgeting and forecast process and ability to accurately track and forecast expenses

* Strong interpersonal skills

* Demonstrated customer focus

* Knowledge of the Medical countermeasure, vaccine, and biodefense space preferred

* Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment

* Demonstrated ability to effectively implement and communicate the core brand messages, product positioning statements, and develop collateral materials.

* Excellent people and communication skills

* Strong organizational and operational skills, attention to detail and judgment

* Ability to build consensus across functions

* Strong interpersonal, oral and written skills and the ability to interact professionally
