Job Overview

TE Connectivity, Energy Division is currently seeking an experienced sales professional to lead business development efforts for newly acquired business for Connectors, Clamping and Grounding Products (Coming from TE JV in India named RPG). The RPG portfolio is targeted to following Market and Industry Segments:

Market Segments:
  1. Utility (Overhead LV/HV Network)
  2. Electrical OEM's,
  3. Electrical Contractors (Tier 1 and 2)
  4. Distributors (National and Regional)

Industry Segments:
  1. Oil & Gas
  2. Data Centres
  3. Renewable Energy

This position will be based in Fuquay Varina/Raleigh, NC. This individual will work as part of our Americas sales team with a strong link to regional PM. The role will develop revenue for RPG Products to provide cost effective solutions. Customer interaction and technical field visits will form a significant part of the role. The ability to identify customer pain points, define solutions independently and convert into opportunities is critical.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities:
  • To implement initiatives that aim to build brand recognition internally and within the target markets.
    1. Actively follow and promote product/segment/industry related Market Strategy and articulate our value proposition.
    2. Educate train front-end sales and channel partners to become independently capable of product promotion.
    3. Attend relevant industry related seminars and exhibitions.
  • Develop the market for product solutions through value-based offerings to Utilities, Electrical contractors, Distributor and other stakeholders serving the industrial verticals detailed above.
  • Working closely with PM to develop a strategy for share gain.
  • Preparing techno-economic evaluations and following up with sales proposals. Establish & maintain close relationships with priority target customers and influencing groups.
  • The BDM will form an important role to support PM in the portfolio definition and investment strategy for new product development and is expected to offer proposals for portfolio expansion though organic and inorganic strategy.
  • Market Mapping: to ensure each regional sales person gains a comprehensive understanding of their region with respect to RPG product Portfolio market.
  • Understand requirements of target accounts: (i.e. Utility (Network Owners) and their respective supply chain: Design & Engineering companies, SS Contractors, MV OEM's, Installers, Market influencers)

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Engineering or Business is preferred; other technical disciplines will also be considered) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Conversational and written fluency: Good Fluency in English and Spanish
  • Strong knowledge of Overhead Distribution Business (Utility or EPC / System Integrator selling experience is preferred).
  • 8+ years of sales and/or technical(B2B) marketing experience in the Energy field
  • Previous training in Energy components/products/material
  • Willingness to travel for business (50%)
