Job Description Summary

Sr Manager: – The Sr Manager develops vision, strategy, and implementation plans focused on evolving and improving quality, reliability, and value of IT systems. With a proven track record of building high performing teams, leading transformational change, and driving to decisions, the Sr Manager is well-positioned to successfully develop and execute strategic roadmaps. The successful candidate is a highly adaptable, experienced, respected, culturally-aligned people leader who comes from a technical background and maintains deep subject matter expertise and domain knowledge with regard to the industry directions, the state of the art/practice, enterprise logging and synthetic monitoring tools, and key lines of business applications. The Sr Manager will ensure operational excellence within the team, optimize current-generation tools, and transform the enterprise logging and synthetic monitoring experience as we migrate to next-generation tools while in parallel positively influencing culture, organization context, and systems design. They will also implement value realization measures that assure progress on strategy/roadmap, customer satisfaction and compliance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Collaborates with senior leaders to develop and socialize strategic intent, desired outcomes, and value proposition

* Provides direction and manages mid-level professional employees, high-level non-exempts, and/or supervisors; may manage technical/business support or production/operation staff

* Is accountable for the performance and results of a team within own discipline or function

* Maintains financial metrics of budget, forecast, and burn-rate

* Maintains team performance/value metrics

* Engages in structured and ad-hoc communication

* Positively influences culture

* Provides coaching and mentoring to other employees

* Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resources and operational changes

* Interprets and executes policies and procedures that typically affect subordinate organizational units

* Maintains compliance with corporate code of conduct, compliance, and risk management policies

QUALIFICATIONS

* BA/BS degree (or equivalent experience) and 10+ years relevant experience or MA/MS and 6-8 years of experience

* 10+ years of experience in Monitoring, System Administration, Networking, Enterprise Logging or similar technology Experience in a large and heterogeneous environment

* Familiarity with health care or PBM industry very helpful

* Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate initiative deadlines

* Demonstrated track record of success in building high performing teams, leading transformation change initiatives, prioritizing work, and delivering measurable value

* Working knowledge of Agile methods, and practical experience in an Agile shop is a benefit

* Demonstrated ability to develop customized solutions that meet business requirements

* Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions

* Strong emotional resiliency and ability to adapt and respond to rapidly changing business circumstances

* Hyper focused on quality and customer satisfaction

* Strong executive presence, excellent oral and written communication skills

* Strong business acumen and working knowledge of forecasting, budgeting, and other financial management

* Strong working knowledge of Enterprise Logging tools splunk and ELK

* Strong working knowledge of Synthetic Monitoring Tools (Dynatrace) and their capabilities

* Working knowledge of monitoring capabilities at all levels including asset, utility, application, and business insight

* Strong working knowledge of Event Management

* Working knowledge of time series data analytics

* Familiarity with integration of Enterprise Logging, Monitoring Systems, Configuration Management Systems, and IT Service Management Platforms

* Working knowledge of security and security concepts, firewalls and anti-virus

* Working knowledge of standard industry web servers (Apache, IIS, etc.), java containers (JBoss, MuleSoft, Websphere, Weblogic, Tomcat, etc.)

* Working knowledge of database monitoring techniques (DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle)

* Working knowledge of security architectures, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL, LDAP, HTML, Web Servers: Apache, IIS

* Working knowledge of application platforms (IBM WebSphere, Mulesoft, Tomcat, .NET, and Cloud Foundry)

* Prior experience with cloud-based platforms and cloud-native application architectures is preferred

* Working knowledge of networking: TCP/IP, and familiarity with firewalls, hubs, routers, switches, DNS, gateways, load balancing and basic network analysis/troubleshooting

* Working knowledge of various scripting languages such as PowerShell/PERL/PHP/HTML/XML/SOAP/REST/JavaScript/AutoHotKey/Selenium Web Driver

* Working knowledge of monitoring-related network and systems management protocols such as HTTP/HTTPS, SNMP, RDP, SSH, LDAP, WMI, IMAP/POP, ICMP, FTP, TELNET, SMTP, DNS, etc. and how to monitor their health and efficiency

* Foundational knowledge and experience with VMware/ESX, VMS and physical hardware

* Familiarity with key servers/encryption, PKI/certificates, JAVA, APIs, and browsers

* Exposure to architectural concepts such as SOA, ITIL, SOFEA, etc
