Document Processing Specialist I

Kentucky Retirement Systems (KRS), Division of Membership Support, is seeking a Document Processing Specialist I for a $18.2 billion state administered retirement system. Located in Frankfort, KY, KRS is responsible for the investment of funds and administration of benefits for over 386,000 state and local government employees in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. These employees include state employees, state police officers, city and county employees, as well as non-teaching staff of local school boards and regional universities.

The KRS Division of Membership Support includes a Call Center Support Section staffed by 4 document processing specialists. These employees are responsible for processing incoming division mail and faxes, updating member accounts with demographic changes and beneficiary designations, and perform duties as phone operators. Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: High school graduate.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of clerical, administrative, or accounting experience.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in a document processing center.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
