REM-Ohio is seeking a Driver to provide safe transportation of individuals served to agency programs and functions. This position will assist staff in supervising individuals during outings, ensure cleanliness and upkeep of company vehicles.

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Valid driver's license in good standing

* Good driving record

* Minimum liability coverage as required to operate a vehicle in the state of Ohio

Founded in 1980, The MENTOR Network is a national network of local human services providers offering an array of quality, community-based services in more than 30 states to adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, brain and spinal cord injuries and other catastrophic injuries and illnesses, and to youth with emotional, behavioral and medically complex challenges as well as their families.

Specific tasks include:

* Daily, weekly, monthly safety and maintenance checks of assigned vehicles

* Assists individuals served with entering and exiting vehicles

* Works as a member of the team. Cooperates and effectively communicates with other staff

* May accompany and assist participants during program outings

* Interacts with participants in an empathetic, respectful, compassionate and dignified manner

* Completes necessary documentation, reports, etc. in a timely, thorough, and accurate manner

* Fulfills scheduled shifts with reliability and punctuality and offers flexibility as the needs of our programs change

* Attends staff meetings, conferences, in-services as assigned by supervisor

* Follows confidentiality requirements at all times

* Adheres to Participant Bill of Rights and other policies and procedures

* Communicates supply and maintenance needs to supervisor

* Demonstrates ability to work independently and within established parameters of policies and procedures

* Responsible for participant safety and well-being at all times

* Adheres to Code of Conduct and the Employee Information Guide

* Successfully completes mandatory training. Responsible for attending annual refresher/ re-certification courses prior to certification expiration dates

What we require of you:

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Valid driver's license in good standing

* Good driving record

* Minimum liability coverage as required to operate a vehicle in Ohio

* Six months to one year of experience in the human services industry preferred but not necessary

* CPR/First Aid certification helpful but not necessary prior to employment

* Willingness to crosstrain for other positions and programs as a team member is highly encouraged
