Job Summary

The Logistics Operations Lead coordinates and monitors the material management section to enter request orders, track acquisitions, and link supply chain segments to ensure visibility of all requests throughout entire process.

Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
  • Lead and coordinate the material management team that enters request orders for multiple contracts in various countries
  • Monitor and maintain tracking system of acquisitions from identification to receipt, ensuring visibility of all requests throughout entire process
  • Develop and update metrics to quantify performance in logistics operations
  • Prepare daily correspondence and briefings in support of logistics operations
  • Identify, troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve issues or gaps in logistics operations at program and task order levels
  • Deploy and interface with logistics personnel in field to implement processes, recommend solutions, and standards that expedite acquisitions
  • Work with catalog team to ensure items are cataloged in accordance with Department of Defense (DOD) and Federal Cataloging Standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent knowledge of logistics, supply principles, and supply chain management
  • Strong team-building and team-member skills
  • Excellent data entry, verbal and written communication, and analytical skills
  • Additional knowledge/skills requirements may vary by assignment

Experience & Education

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in DOD, civilian, or military supply and/or logistics operations including property, material, or logistics management
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prefer Bachelor's Degree in business or logistics management
  • Prefer experience with Property Management System Analysis (PMSA) preparation and sustainment, Military or Federal Standard Requisitioning and Issue Procedures (MILSTRIP/ FEDSTRIP); and GSA Advantage government purchasing service
  • Prefer certification by a professional association in logistics, supply chain, or property management; examples include Advancing Productivity, Innovations, and Competitive Success (APICS) Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or being Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
  • Additional experience/education requirements may vary by assignment

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Generally works in a normal office environment, but due to operational locations of various task orders, may be required to travel domestically and internationally on short notice, to austere environments under harsh living conditions
