About the Position: This position is located at Ft. Rucker, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Rucker is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Recreation activities are abundant in the immediate and surrounding areas for family and fun.

Responsibilities

* Serves as Training Specialist for all academic sections within the battalion. Serves as subject matter expert (SME) for integration of computer based training (CBT) and multimedia in support of Classroom XXI initiatives.

* Serves a SME for multimedia program within the battalion. Coordinates with outside agencies to determine CBT needs. Establishes dedicated team to assist in the design/development, acquisition, and review of CBT products.

* Serves as independent action officer, design team member, or advisor on assigned aviation flight system projects.

* Analyzes assigned projects to determine application of SAT design/implementation or review process for new, modified, or existing flight system training programs.

* Standardizes this program across the battalion to ensure proper instructor training and documentation procedures.

* Actively monitors instruction to ensure compliance with current regulations for student academic training.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction applying specialized technical knowledge aviation related subjects in the development and revision of complete courses or programs of instruction and the design/development or acquisition of computer based training and/or multimedia. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. [remove LL.M., if unrelated] in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: education or aeronautics.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the second lower grade or equivalent (GS-9).
