Staff Military Analyst

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a highly motivated former military officer or senior enlisted with information technology experience for a challenging position supporting the Joint Staff Force Structure, Resources and Assessment Directorate (J8).

This position is in support of the Support Agency Review and Assessment Office (SARAO). Under Title 10, Section 193, United States Code, the Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff (CJCS) is tasked to biennially assess the readiness and responsiveness of the Combat Support Agencies (CSAs) to support the operating forces and to review the plans of those agencies in support of the forces. Contractor personnel within SARAO provide the organizational/technical skills necessary to coordinate the activities the Combat Support Agency Review Team (CSART) that performs these biennial CSA assessments. These assessments are a constructive and collaborative process designed to optimize the combat support effectiveness of each CSA. The success of the CSART process is measured by the degree to which it can facilitate the introduction of its recommendations to positively influence agency internal processes and systems

* Candidate will use advanced technical knowledge/analysis in areas related to national security to provide sound military advice to senior Department of Defense decision makers.

* Candidates will effectively use human interaction skills to engage Service and other staffs on a frequent basis to coordinate events and build consensus on issues. Results are provided to the customer in the form of technical reports/briefings, studies and related documents, many of which will be viewed by senior DoD leadership.

Job Requirements

* Current Top Secret (TS) Clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 5 years.

* Masters Degree from an accredited college or university or BA/BS degree with completion of Command and General Staff College

* 15 yrs military experience with a working knowledge of the Joint Force (military doctrine, planning and operational employment of forces and combat service support) as demonstrated by education and/or experience.

* Technical background in information technology / cyberspace. This includes a working knowledge of DoD transport services, enterprise-level command and control capabilities, information assurance, and Global Information Grid (GIG) enterprise services. Experience working with/for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) is a plus.

* Must be able to interpret, synthesize, and present results and recommendations via detailed written reports to senior military and civilian decision makers.

* Must be capable of leading and managing interdisciplinary assessment teams.
