About the Position: The Fort Eustis Civilian Personnel Advisory Center (CPAC) provides commanders, managers and supervisors with quality service and assistance in acquiring, developing and retaining an effective workforce of highly qualified civilians to serve as integral Total Army Team members.

Fort Eustis, Virginia is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. Local Transportation via the Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) bus service to the surrounding area.

* Serves as a Human Resources (HR) Specialist performing operational assignments in the Civilian Human Resources Agency (CHRA). as

* Provides expert HR management advisory and technical services on complex and wide-impacting customer functions and work practices.

* Advises managers and supervisors on staffing requirements, resources, and problems in assigned offices involving a high degree on complexity.

* Serves as senior specialist in the implementation, maintenance and/or operation of CHRA automated HR information systems.

Occasional travel - Business travel may be up to 10%.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experienece requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience such as: interpreting and applying civilian HR principles, laws, regulations used in the recruitment and placement; utilize various concepts and methods to manage & maintain human resources information systems; provide technical advisory guidance to internal & external customers on Human Resources services. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone- no substitution of education for experience is permitted for the GS-12.
