About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Public Works- Contracting Office, Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, KY & Clarksville, TN about 45 miles NW of Nashville. Both visitors & residents enjoy the shops & eateries of downtown Hopkinsville & Clarksville. The cost of living is lower than the average for all major U.S. cities.

Responsibilities

* Serve as primary point of contact for contractor and customer support.

* Inspect contractor's work through random sampling for quality work performance.

* Perform technical review of contractor proposals for modifications.

* Recommend payment/non-payment of additional charge requests for contracted work.

Travel Required

Occasional travel - Temporary Business Travel (TDY) may be up to 5%.

I have one-year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal Service which includes inspecting completed contract services, updating and revising surveillance techniques, and identifying potential issues with contracted work.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
