Tasks:

ABB is seeking a Quality Assistant 3 at Florence, South Carolina. This role is crucial to the QA Department, and EPDS Service as a whole, in complying with both our commercial (ISO 9001:2015) and nuclear (10CFR50 Appendix B) quality assurance programs. The role requires the ability to interpret drawings and technical requirements, perform measurements/analysis against those requirements, and coordinate with other departments to resolve quality issues that arise.

Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Primary function is to perform outgoing inspection. This includes inspecting components, subassemblies, and complete breakers. A mixture of measuring and test equipment and visual inspection is required to ensure product conforms to the design requirements. Will need to become proficient at the various inspection systems

* Communicate with other departments (Operations, Testing, and Engineering) to complete inspections. Work with other departments to resolve issues identified during inspection

* Support incoming inspection activities depending on manpower availability or work loading

* Assist with investigations/research on behalf of Engineering for troubleshooting and product development activities

* Perform internal audits to verify compliance to ABB procedures and support external audits of our supplier base

Requirements:

Basic qualification:

* High School Diploma with 5 years of experience in a Manufacturing or Technical environment

Preferred qualification:

* High School Diploma with 8 years of experience in a Manufacturing or Technical environment

* Proficient in SAP

* Being a Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) is a plus

* Proficiency with MS Word & Excel

* Demonstrated ability in the use of measuring and test equipment

* Demonstrated experience for taking the initiative (being a self-starter)

* Knowledge of special processes (e.g., heat treat, plating, painting, welding) and the use of specialized inspection and testing equipment
