The Industrial Maintenance Instrument/Electrical Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and/or repairing site instrument and electrical equipment while working safely, minimizing the cost of maintenance, and accomplishing repairs in a timely manner

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to development of maintenance procedures used to improve equipment reliability, improve efficiency and control repair costs
  • Performs programming for all the extruders on site for 20 compounding lines)
  • Extruders in Zones A-D – operators will notate the performance of each extruders by shift or downtime – the Industrial Maintenance Instrument/Electrical Technician will review zone boards and takes the lead on any I&E issues to resolve.
  • Participates in training and development of Process Experts (Operators) and Reliability Experts (Mechanics) on daily routine PM (Preventative Maintenance) tasks
  • Reads and interprets drawings, engineering standards, specifications, and manuals to assure correct installation and repair
  • Attends all asset team SQRE meetings and determines actions
  • Works on projects for the site
  • Actively promotes a strong safety culture

Qualifications

Required:

  • Education: HS Diploma or GED
  • Licensed electrician and trained instrument technician
  • Master Electrician preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial instrument and/or electrical maintenance, including troubleshooting, test equipment and repair
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with both maintenance and safety practices applicable to industrial instrument and electrical equipment
  • Strong working knowledge of industrial instrumentation and electrical equipment
  • Ability to provide plant-wide maintenance coverage (on call) on a 24-hour basis
  • Experience reading and interpreting drawings, engineering standards, specifications, and manuals to assure correct installation and repair
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
  • Must be able to work at elevated heights with safety equipment
  • Must be able to climb ladders wear the appropriate PPE
  • Must be able to work in all-weather climates and corresponding temperature as the production area is not climate controlled

  • SAP experience
  • Root Cause Analysis experience
  • Demonstrated experience to work within a highly diverse, multi-disciplinary, multi-functional environment
  • Experience with Air Compressor systems
  • Experience with PLC's and Industrial Control Systems
  • Has craft certification or passing score on the following NCCER assessments:
  • Industrial Maintenance Electrical and Instrumentation Technician
  • Industrial Electrician
  • Instrumentation Technician
  • 5 years of experience with Safety Instrumented Systems
