Direct the strategic planning, development and administration of core World Vision US' (WVUS) Human Resources functional areas and provide oversight to HR policies and procedures. Support WVUS, as well as, the World Vision Partnership (separately incorporated WV entities around the world) organizational effectiveness by partnering with HR leaders and internal client groups to provide human resources expertise, service and tools that result in greater alignment of people and organizational objectives. Help carry out our Christian organization's mission, vision, and strategies. Personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.

Keep Christ central in our individual and corporate lives. Attend and participate in the leadership of devotions, weekly Chapel services, and regular prayer.

Management/Leadership:

* Direct and manage the Talent Acquisition team (TAPs) and the HR Business Partners, setting goals/priorities, performance objectives, and monitor progress to ensure departmental objectives are achieved.

* Hire, fire, train, counsel, evaluate and recommend salary increases and promotions for those under direct and indirect supervision.

* Serve on WVUS Human Resources leadership team, participating in strategic and technical planning sessions for the organization and individual business units to meet organizational goals.

* Provide Human Resources expertise to the World Vision Partnership by participating on partnership-wide committees and providing consultation and technical expertise to others WV offices around the world as needed (up to 10% of the time).

General Human Resources:

* Counsel, coach and/or refer internal clients at all levels on issues related to recruitment, performance discipline, conflict resolution, and change management with the goal of building knowledge and capacity among management and staff. Assist management in counseling employees on problems affecting performance.

* Oversee areas of human resources ensuring appropriate staffing of human resources functions, implementation, administration, collaboration and communication occurs in order to provide excellent customer service and support of the strategic needs of the organization and its employees.

* Collaborate with other HR staff in order to ensure effective decisions making and excellent customer service.

Policies/Compliance:

* Research, develop, and maintain equal opportunity programs for minority, female, veteran, and handicapped applicants in compliance with governmental legislation and management directives.

* Monitor and ensure compliance with changing state and federal legislation and case law.

* Conduct policy research and analysis, preparing reports of findings and draft policy recommendations as appropriate.

* Support other HR areas in absence of Senior Vice President or other professional staff.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as part of a team.

Keep informed of organizational announcements, activities and changes via regular reading of the WVUS Intranet and other corporate communication tools.

Required Skills

Required Experience

Bachelor's degree or equivalent (eight years) work experience in human resources management or related field. Master's degree in related field preferred. In addition to education or education equivalent, requires work experience in human resources with a proven track record managing a team of professionals; 8-10 years.
