Development Manager

Development Manager with Bracket Global LLC at the Feasterville-Trevose, PA office to manage complex projects, design, develop and provide on-time delivery of complex applications, components and/or systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

45%: Application Development

* Works with Business System Analysts (BSA), to gain an understanding of the business requirements for assigned tasks.

* Acts as technology and domain subject matter expert in one or more business domains and/or technical areas.

* Recommends and implements tools associated with team based software development.

* Creates and/or approves technical design documentation.

* Evaluates and implements new technologies into the current development process.

* Performs code reviews.

* Ensures all technical documentation is in place, reviewed and approved for projects.

* Acts as facilitator in the technical design and implementation of on-going new system development and enhances projects with sharp focus towards long-term architectural improvements.

* Defines code re-use strategy for team and productivity goals for assigned staff. Tracks and reports progress on these goals and technical initiatives on a quarterly basis.

* Recommends and implements tools associated with team based software development.

* Play key role in defining testing automation, scripts/configuration data review driven testing model.

* Works with management defining the departmental budget, vision, roadmaps and goals and plays a key role in the implementation of this vision.

* Contributes in the creation of departmental procedure documents and working instructions.

* Provides technical leadership to drive the successful completion of development projects.

* Assists in the creation and maintenance of technical standards.

* Participates as a member of the development team to implement business applications.

5%: Application Support

* Ensures all required change control documentation is included including updates to requirements, design and other technical documents as required.

* May deploy resolution to testing and production environment as required.

* Provides after hours application support as required.

* Oversight of Application Support staff and priorities.

35%: Quality System Support and Strategy

* Performs all work in accordance with documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

* Adheres to Good Clinical Practices (GCP), 21 CFR Part 11 and other regulatory requirements.

* Recommend, design and implement on-going application improvements.

* Creates and documents system design specifications and other technical documents as required.

* Understands and follows all coding standards.

* Ensures that the development team creates robust, well documented code.

* Ensures that the testing team completes unit testing and code review documentation as required.

* Works with all stakeholders to ensure the timely and cost effective release of application code.

* Ensures that the testing team follows industry standard best practices in accordance with Bracket standard procedures.

* Provides metrics and reporting on team performance and development to Bracket Management.

* Provides after hours application support as required.

15%: Team management

* Manages a team of Software Developers and testers, and other assigned staff to ensure the timely development and release of business applications.

* Sets clear productivity and quality objectives for the assigned staff and tracks progress on an individual basis.

* Motivates staff and strengthens teamwork.

* Takes active participation in technical training and mentoring for junior team members and cross functional teams.

Required Skills and Experience

Employer requires Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other closely related field of study; plus 24 months of experience in the offered position or closely related occupations. In the alternate, employer is willing to accept Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other closely related field of study; plus 60 months of experience in the offered position or closely related occupations. Experience may be concurrent. Employer is willing to accept any suitable combination of education, experience and/or training in the skills required for the position.
