Position Overview

The Development & Events Coordinator provides the coordination and execution of events and annual giving programs in support of Washington Regional Medical System. The Development & Events Coordinator reports to the Executive Director of the Washington Regional Medical Foundation.

Credentials & Education Required

Technical Competence – Understands and appropriately applies procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized expertise and maintains credibility with others on technical matters

Required Education & Experience – Three or more years of demonstrated success in special events planning & execution (preferably in a health care environment), to include corporate sponsorship, event marketing & promotion; working knowledge of annual giving programs; experience and interactions with volunteer boards/committees; working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Raisers Edge donor software. In addition, demonstrated organizational abilities, mature judgment and self-discipline as usually acquired through the successful completion of a bachelor's degree in a related field. Education: BA/BS or higher in a related field required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads coordination and execution of events and provides support for fundraising activities
  • Provides support for the employee Make a Difference Campaign, Grateful Patient Program and Annual Campaign
  • Guides stewardship efforts in donor acknowledgement and recognition activities
  • Manages the schedule of and response from the Gift Planning marketing and promotion activities, including updating donor information in Raisers Edge
  • Coordinates the solicitation of event sponsorships and maintains updated information on organizational contacts in the donor database
