Job Overview:

The Senior Data Insights & Analytics Lead will be responsible for leading the data insight and analytics needs at MBFS with a strong focus on visualizations & interactive dashboards. This includes consulting with MBFS business areas on business needs, translating business needs into analytics/reporting/visualization requirements, architecting & designing the analytics/reporting/visualization solution and interfacing with the business area to ensure successful customer outcomes. This position is a Lead within the team and will include mentorship, training, direction and day to day management of other team members and contractors. This role also serves as a data steward for supported business areas and is responsible for enhancing the MBFS Data Warehouse and Data Mart environments. This position may also be responsible for the architecture and support of the Cognos Framework.

Responsibilities:

Data Insights Solution Development and Customer Support- using various BI tools, work with business areas to create dashboards, analytics, reports, and other data visualizations that provide business insight. This includes gathering and analyzing requirements from business users and developing BI solutions. Collaborate with IT partners to translate business requirements into technical specifications for IT supported system solutions. Collaborate with IT partners and business partners in support of month end processes where applicable. (45%)

Framework Management - This role may include the Cognos Framework Management. If so, this position will manage the framework for the reporting environment. Architect and model existing data to be easily consumed by customers and reports. Review and improve performance of reports/ BI solutions through working with ETL and DBA resources. Manage upgrades to the portal and/or reporting tools. (10%)

Data stewardship – Partner with the business, IT, and the DIAA to evolve the reporting environment to meet future business needs. Work with business SMEs to identify and close existing data gaps in the reporting environment. Modify and create data warehouse specifications based on data requests. Analyze and assess impacts to the data warehouse and BI landscape for key project initiatives. (15%)

Project management - Support and/or lead Data Insights & Advanced Analytics owned projects. Participate in MBFS initiatives and projects to assess impact to BI domain. Identify potential issues and develop work arounds as needed to ensure continuity of BI solutions. (15%)

Specialized reporting - Generate and maintain reports and data extracts owned by the Data Insights & Advanced Analytics that support customer/IT business processes. (5%)

Strategy/BI Governance: Participate in developing the short and long term strategic approach for business intelligence and associated governance. As new technology and tools are implemented in DIAA landscape, participate in developing governance strategy for associated reports, models, visualizations, etc. (10%)

This position requires 5 years of overall work experience. Preferred experience includes:

* Business 5 Years experience

* Finance 2 Years experience

* BI and Analytics Lead 2 Years experience

Additional Knowledge:

Minimum of 5 years experience with a BI and analytics solution toolset (i.e. Cognos, Essbase, MS Access, Tableau)

This position requires a Bachelor's degree. MBA/MA preferred. Preferred Majors include:

SAS Certified Developer (preferred)

Preferred QUID, Altryx, R a plus
