Civil/Hydraulic Engineer

Kleinschmidt has an immediate opening for a Civil/Hydraulic Engineer in our Falmouth, Maine, office. Our Strasburg, Pennsylvania, or Lexington, South Caroline office locations would be considered as well.


* BSCE with a minimum of 3 years of experience in hydraulic/hydrologic engineering is required. A Master's degree in hydraulics or a related engineering field is desirable

* Possess EIT designation and working toward PE registration

* Experience with stormwater and erosion control design,

* Experience with hydraulic models (1D and 2D; 3D a plus); HEC-RAS

* Experience with hydrology modeling HEC-HMS

* Experience with hydraulic analysis and design

* Experience with Geographic Information System (GIS) ESRI ArcMap

* Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel

* Good oral and written communication skills

* Ability to work well with a multi-discipline design team

* Must possess permanent authorization to work in the United States

* Be willing to travel

Typical duties of this position include stormwater and erosion control design, hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, and hydraulic design tasks. The successful candidate will be part of a team of technical professionals working on various hydro and other "green energy" projects in the U.S. The successful candidate will be mentored in the field of hydraulic and hydrologic engineering and hydroelectric facilities design while incorporating the skills of structural, civil, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical engineering.
