The primary purpose of this position is to provide a comprehensive program of social, cultural, athletic and recreational activities that promote a happy, healthy lifestyle and meet the identified needs and interests of sailor.

Plans and coordinates details of recurring and non-recurring activities, special events and joint community undertakings to ensure maximum utilization of facilities, services and other resources. Plans, develops and administrates existing programs. Schedules and publicizes activities. Arranges for all supplies and equipment necessary to support programs. Responsible for the maintenance, security and safety of all records, reports and information. Assists with developing budget criteria. Serves as point of contact for young adult activities. Performs other duties as assigned.

* Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English both verbally and in writing

* Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background Investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.


A degree from an accredited college or university with a course of study in Recreation Management/administration or closely related field, is desired. Knowledge of recreation policies, principles, concepts and methodology of recreation. Knowledge and skills required to plan, implement and carry out all activities of a young adult activity program. Knowledge of inventory procedures and controls. Ability to market programs. Knowledge of budget preparation and accounting systems and processes. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation.
