The Food Service Worker assists in food preparation, catering, serving of meals and snacks, cleaning and storing of dishes, utensils, pots, general department sanitation and cashiering. Stores food stuffs and supplies. Performs other duties as required.
The incumbent reports to the Food Service Manager as do the Cooks. On a daily basis, receives functional guidance and work direction from the Cook.
High school graduation or equivalent.
Entry level position. No experience required but previous food service experience helpful.
Must have sufficient mathematical ability to increase/decrease recipes.
Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently as well as understand and follow written and oral directions.
Must be able to work in hot-humid kitchen environment as well as shorter periods in refrigerators and freezers (40 ° - 0° F). Requires continuous standing and/or walking. Requires frequent lifting and carrying of heavy containers of food and supplies weighing 25-50 pounds. Requires frequent pushing of heavy carts.
