Coordinator, Sno-Isle Tech Summer School

The successful candidate will administer a specially designed summer learning program for current students in grades 9-12, that allows students to explore skills center offerings while retrieving or enhancing credit. Responsible for maintaining school safety, discipline and attendance during the summer school program. May include professional development for staff and a summer school pre-meeting for staff. Work hours will be 7:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. and the summer school will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. from June 25 - July 13 (no school on July 4). Minimum qualifications: School Administrator credential and experience working as a dean of students, assistant principal or principal. Preferred qualifications: CTE teaching or administrative experience.

JOB TITLE: SUMMER SCHOOL COORDINATOR

JOB SUMMARY: Manage and lead a summer school program that promotes student achievement in targeted areas.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Plan a comprehensive summer school program for grade level areas

* Support the schools in the recruitment and selection of summer school students

* Create a school culture that promotes the ongoing improvement of teaching and learning for students and staff

* Manage summer school program budgets

* Recruit, screen and hire summer school staff

* Prepare reports, records and other paperwork

* Schedule students and staff

* Conduct training and professional development for staff

* Coordinate curriculum

* Supervise, assist and evaluate staff to promote effective performance

* Supervise and manage summer school students

* Follow a comprehensive and progressive discipline program for students

* Manage school climate and facilities to promote school safety

* Lead the development, implementation and/or evaluation of school programs to promote student learning

* Collect , interpret and use assessment data

* Partner with the school community to promote student learning

* Collaboratively plan and work with multiple departmental leadership

* Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION:

* Valid Washington State teaching certification

EXPERIENCE:

* Leadership experiences at the building level

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

* Administrative certificate

* Previous experience as summer school coordinator
