Job Overview: Atlas Van Lines is seeking an organized, detail-orientated, and driven IT Support Technician to join our Atlas team! The IT Support Technician is responsible for the installation and maintenance of the Local Area Network (LAN) and maintaining and monitoring the data backup software and hardware to ensure recoverability of systems and file data. Responsible for the support of all users of the LAN including problem solving hardware and software issues as well as user security (including agents) to active directory and AtlasNet applications. This role is also responsible for implementing hardware and software with direction of others as needed.

Other essential duties and responsibilities include:

* Backing up, archiving and verification of data backups to ensure system or file data recoverability as well as any other periodic operational activities. Participates in the testing of the Disaster Recovery plan to restore infrastructure

* Security administration such as: user creates, deletes and password issues

* Ensuring operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and tests; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; repairing and replacing any failing hardware or software components; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques

* Providing support necessary for all in house users, agents and subsidiaries to be highly productive and correcting user issues (those not handled by the helpdesk); escalating when appropriate

* Assuring that there is no unauthorized access to the LAN facilities and that each user's data is adequately secured; Reporting security violations to the Director of IT Network Services and others responsible for security support; Documenting service and installation actions connected to Atlas World Group Inc. Systems

* Participating in the implementation of projects under the direction of experienced personnel using standard project management disciplines; Implementations should result in no adverse impact on users

* Providing input and assisting the Director of IT Network Services in developing annual plans and monitoring the progress toward the plan including making adjustments as appropriate

Employment Type & Hours: This full-time position will consist of 40 hours per week. Hours fall between 8:00am and 5:00pm, M-F.

Required Skills

* Effective problem-solving, organizational, analytical, oral and communication skills
