PURPOSE:

Berry Global, a global leader in the plastics packaging industry, is excited to announce a new opportunity in the tax department. The Corporate Tax team is responsible with complying with tax filing requirements, financial statement disclosures related to tax and tax planning projects for the global business. As an integral part of the team, the Senior Tax Analyst position is responsible for assisting with the domestic tax compliance function and implementation of the overall tax planning strategy for the company. The position is heavily involved in the preparation of federal, state and local income taxes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with preparation of federal and state income/franchise tax returns
  • Assist with preparation of sales/use tax returns and related audit inquiries
  • Assist with preparation of property tax filings
  • Research and resolve issues identified during the return preparation process to ensure accuracy of filings
  • Assist with the quarterly income tax provision to support the effective tax rate (ETR) reported on the financial statements
  • Research of tax statutes, regulations, and case law to assist in developing tax positions for the company
  • Assist with Federal/State Income Tax Planning Projects

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 4-10 years of significant income tax experience is required
  • Public accounting experience and/or significant manufacturing experience is preferred
  • An undergraduate degree in Accounting is required
  • CPA or Master's degree is a plus
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Have an understanding and experience in the application of federal and state tax laws and regulations
  • Significant federal and state income tax compliance experience including use of tax preparation software (e.g. RIA InSource, etc.)
  • OneSource experience is a plus
  • Must be computer literate with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
