This is a full-time position for the 2018/2019 school year.

The primary purpose of this position is the instruction and supervision of a diverse group of students keeping within the law, board policies, and administrative regulations. A primary focus is the establishment of a positive learning environment that promotes a high level of achievement for all students while considering the background and developmental level of the individual student. Instruction and supervision include student guidance, classroom management, and knowledge in subject areas taught and District and state standards. This is demonstrated by appropriate curriculum design, instructional practices, and student progress assessment.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Experience differentiating practices for diverse populations.

* Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse students, staff, and community populations.

* Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching advanced mathematics topics, AP, IB and College Now math courses.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Valid Oregon teacher's license with the math endorsement required, advanced math endorsement preferred.

* Must be authorized at the High School Level.

* ESOL endorsements preferred.

* Evidence of multi-cultural experience and cultural competency.

* Must be Highly Qualified in No Child Left Behind.

* Bilingual proficiency and/or multicultural experience strongly preferred.

* Three (3) letters of recommendation. Must be from the last 2 years and one letter must be from a supervisor.

* Test results if applicable. (ie. ORELA or PRAXIS)

Upon offer of employment applicants must obtain a fingerprint clearance from the Oregon State Police Department and the FBI through a process authorized by the Eugene School District 4J. Applicants would be responsible for the one-time fingerprint clearance fee.
