Global Tax Coordinator

General Responsibilities

The Tax Coordinator will provide functional and administrative support to the Tax Department and the Vice President, Global Tax. This position affords the candidate the unique opportunity to garner experience in all areas of an internal tax department's operations. General responsibilities will include budgeting, administrative support, project management and various other staff duties, specifically:

* Oversee development and maintenance of Tax Department budget to include expense forecasting, invoice processing, expenses tracking, and working with other departments ensure budget accuracy

* Assist the tax compliance function by preparing forms for quarterly estimated tax payments and extensions as well as assist with the preparation and filing of basic income, franchise, sales, use and other simple tax returns and annual reports

* Prepare check and EFT requests for payments; orchestrate the processing of all tax payments and tax refunds, with detailed record keeping

* Review purchase agreements, engagement letters, partnership/affiliate agreements, etc., in cooperation with other tax staff

* Assist with Federal, State and Local audit defense by helping to prepare correspondence, respond to information document requests and communicate with auditors

* Perform basic research, monitor tax legislation for changes in law and procedures

* Process vendor invoices, order office supplies and coordinate technology resource needs with IT

* Manage record retention policy for on-site inventory and remote archiving

* Manage calendars; arrange travel and agendas; coordinate meetings; schedule CLE/CPE and reserve conference rooms

* Sort and distribute incoming mail and interoffice correspondence

* The successful candidate will possess the ability to function in a fluid environment and a willingness to work on a variety of tasks as required

* Minimum of 4 years as an office manager; paralegal; legal or executive assistant; or other comparable experience, for mid to large corporation or law practice

* Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel, Word & PowerPoint

* Familiarity with general internet research; Tax/Legal research software experience preferred but not required

* Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to professionally represent the tax department to both internal and external personnel

* An active learner with an interest in tax and the ability to prioritize responsibilities and complete work timely and accurately

* Exemplary time management/organizational skills with attention to detail and the highest level of personal responsibility and integrity
