We are seeking a Jr. DBA, Data Engineer to work with our information technology teams. This is a full-time paid position and an opportunity to work, learn, and improve your skills with a talented team of professionals. Most of our databases are of the MySQL variety, but as you’ll see below we do run a variety of relational and NOSQL databases.

Reports to: Sr. DBA, Data Engineer, Director of development, Manager of operations.

Position Responsibilities

  • Database Administration of 60+ database instances; MySQL, Percona Server, MariaDB, Oracle, DB2, MongoDB
  • Data Engineering
  • Extract / Transform / Load processes
  • Database and Application Development
  • Analytics
  • Business Intelligence
  • Data Warehousing

Requirements

  • MySQL database administration skills
  • Linux system administration skills
  • Bash scripting
  • Experience in database development (SQL queries, etc)
  • Familiarity with MySQL backup and restore techniques

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.

Competencies

  • Team player who is willing to go above and beyond to help others.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to assess a customer’s IT knowledge levels and adjust communication accordingly.
  • Logical thinker.
  • In-depth understanding of databases and database development.
