Application Developer - Java / Perl

Job Scope

The Software Developer is part of a team that develops and supports enterprise-wide Operations Support Systems (OSS) applications and their associated operating systems and databases.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Development, design, and implementation of the new automation and existing proprietary application

* Application Administration of OSS applications supporting all Charter Divisions

* Lead automation projects using agile development methodologies; including Kanban and Scrum

* Provide technical guidance to other team members

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science or Information Technology from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education, and experience

* Minimum of 2 years of Software Development experience within JAVA and HTML

* Minimum of 2 years' experience with web service standards (REST, SOAP)

Additional Skills and Experience:

* Experience with software development lifecycles with a proven record of delivering multiple projects and meeting aggressive timelines

* Perl development experience

* Experience with Continuous Integration and deployment environments (Jenkins, GitHub)

* Ability to understand customer requirements, develop and propose the most appropriate approach to solve technical problems

* Ability to prepare and review the design documentation

* Ability to plan, develop and execute unit test cases to ensure that the developed code performs per the requirements

* Participate in the maintenance and sustainment activities of the system/software

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working within Telecommunications industry
