So that our production continues to run smoothly, we are looking for a Machining Maintenance Manager for the BMW Hams Hall plant.


  • As a Machining Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for overseeing, and managing, the daily needs of the 3 maintenance shifts. You will lead a team of maintenance technicians who maintain a fully automated CNC multi axis machine shop working to close tolerances and high production volumes.
  • You will need to ensure the effective technical use with a variety of maintenance principles ensuring the technical availability of the facility is continuously maintained and improved.
  • Target focus and using your team management skills you will manage, motivate and develop the maintenance teams to ensure that optimum performance, efficiency and effectiveness of the department are achieved.
  • Planning, monitoring and controlling efficient use of departmental budget and manpower resources so you can ensure budget requirements are met.
  • You will take a key role in technical issues and can support in solving any quality, efficiency and complex problems.
  • Part of your remit will include managing and develop a team of technicians and escalate accordingly which enables you to operate cross functionally.
  • You will work towards the achievement of all production related targets within a relevant area and ensure technical availability of machinery is in line with current company targets.
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an electrical or mechanical discipline.
  • In depth knowledge of machinery, technical, electrical and mechanical systems is beneficial.
  • Experienced in a highly technical automotive or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge with high volume production machinery is advantageous.
  • Good understanding of PSS and reference line systems.
