Process Technology Manager (1802692) – Elyria, OH Where the Chemistry Happens We are seeking a professional like you to manage, direct and control the resources of the Process Technology Department at the Elyria site. You will control and direct the activities for Elyria Process Engineers and Engineering PDPs/interns who are overseeing the technology and processes to manufacture catalyst. Carrying out the requirements of this position will enable the facility to provide efficient, responsive and competitive products to the marketplace. In addition, you will ensure that all technical processes and activities comply with BASF policies, regulations and our values for safety, quality, environmental and financial stewardship. The Process Technology Manager interacts with various business/support organizations and supports key initiatives such product/technology transfers, new product introductions, process optimization, and OpX process improvements in fulfilling the mission of the business, site, and ensuring customer satisfaction and employee engagement. Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent Formula for Success Leveraging your educational background in an Engineering discipline as well as your extensive professional experience in engineering, production, or R&D, you will direct the activities of the Process Engineers - coordinating their activities with various internal and external stakeholders confirming processes are technically effective and efficient. You will also ensure this site maintains and improves the technology of each operation and protect BASF and customer proprietary information. You will utilize your knowledge and experience of process safety to lead the team in conducting process hazard assessments and executing appropriate improvement measures. You will also ensure that sound management of change practices are effectively implemented. Your demonstrated success in increasingly responsible positions will be useful as you manage and coordinate technology transfers and product trials with appropriate internal/external onsite and offsite departments and businesses. You will participate and assist (as requested) with product development of new and existing products. Your strong interpersonal skills will allow you to effectively interface with multiple plant and departmental groups to meet business objectives. Leaning on your commitment to excellence and compliance, you will be responsible for ensuring that training and succession planning needs have been met and that safety is given the highest priority in all departments, allowing the organization to achieve superior performance standards.
