The Millsdale Plant has an opening for an Instrumentation Specialist. The Instrumentation Specialist's role is to provide technician training for new hires and on-going for current technicians, while maintaining an active and robust preventative maintenance and calibration programs for both laboratory and production based analytical equipment.

Responsibilities include:

* Aid entire /QA/QC Team to standardized approach to continuous improvement.

* Responsible for reviewing technician work output on a frequent basis and reporting deviations, errors, or failure to follow established good laboratory practices.

* Actively participate in the management of the laboratory work processes and help team meet established performance goals. Help ensure technician work load is appropriately distributed to ensure effective and efficient laboratory operation.

* Provide leadership and procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting of quality results, adherence to customer requirements (specifications) and ISO standards. Provide technical leadership for methodologies, instrumentation, product formulations and general chemistry

* Accountable for completion of technician's required training to ensure staff maintains adequate level of expertise.

* Responsible for managing lab reagent inventory; ordering lab chemicals and supplies.

* Responsible for ensuring the safe operation of the Area QA/QC Function, including aiding in assurances that area policies, procedures, and work instructions are in line with safe operation and consistent with Plant policy and goals.

* Ensure that all employees within the QA/QC area are suitably trained in all aspects of HSE to deliver appropriate HSE performance.

* Promote and maintain a Behavioral Safety Culture on site, with specific responsibility in the QA/QC area

* Ensure that HSE is a consideration within ISO procedures

* Responsible for the implementation & validation of approved new and/or modified analytical methodology in the QC laboratory and production areas. Establish and Implement Round Robin Analysis and Proficiency Testing Programs.

* Responsible for the evaluation, justification, purchase, and installation of new analytical equipment for the QC Laboratory.

* Manage & process compliance statements, drum & tote orders, Toller, Raw Material and other sample testing and certifications.

* Miscellaneous project work as assigned.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field is required

* Previous lab experience

* Excellent data analytics skills

* Strong oral and written communication skills

* Proficient in using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
