Respiratory Therapists provide service to all areas of the hospital including emergency department, adult critical care unit, progressive care unit, pediatrics, maternal infant center and med-surg floor in addition to performing diagnostic studies in our pulmonary function laboratory and assisting with bronchoscopies. Services include Ventilators, BIPAP, CPAP, administration of nebulized medications and MDIs, intubations, oxygen therapy, CPT, patient assessments and one channel sleep studies. Works independently and assists co-workers to ensure a cohesive team approach. Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing. Assists in routine department functions, ordering supplies, equipment processing and report distribution. Supports efforts to educate medical professionals and the public. Performs other duties as assigned. This job requires employees to demonstrate initial and annual competencies in order to remain in the position.
Education: Graduate of AMA accredited Respiratory Care Program or equivalent.
Licenses: Must be licensed to practice Respiratory Care in the state of Maryland.
Certifications: BLS. NRP required within 90 days of hire. Preferred: ACLS and PALS.
Experience: Prefer recent one (1) year hands-on experience in the field of Respiratory Therapy.
