Press Department Manager

* Continually review the specifications and make specific recommendations with regard to manufacturing capabilities.

* Interface with the plate making and graphics department

* Responsible for the printing and graphics issue program

* Interface with Ink Room Manager to achieve color objectives- review press department performance issues with the Ink Room Manager as needed.

* Review all procedures and policies as needed with Director of Operations and Management Team.

* Achieve the annual EFM goals set for the department

* Ensure adherence to food safety requirements, quality and production SOP's

* Ensure all department employees are trained on food safety requirements.

* Achieve the annual payroll cost / pound goals set for the department

* Manage and schedule employee vacation time

* Review/manage/schedule preventive maintenance for the press department

* Responsible for the behavior, attitudes, and performance of the press department employees

* Coordinate counseling and progressive discipline of employees with the input of the Human Resource Department and the Director of Operations and consistent with HR policy.

* Control the inventory of supplies used by the press department

* Attend required monthly management team meetings

* Create an action plan for achieving the goals set forth by the Director of Operations

* Regular, consistent attendance and punctuality are essential to the job.

* Report all food safety violations to management

Skills and Experience

* Management skills

* Knowledge of press department, mounting and plate making operations,

* Manufacturing processes & procedures

* Organizational skills

* Detail oriented

* 5+ years of experience required

* 4 year degree preferred - but will substitute equivalent experience
